Working on a game again…
Seems like it’s been a long while since I’ve had the opportunity to really just dig in and work on a game, but alas I’ve started again.
This time things are a bit different, at first I was going to work with a team on some projects that they had planned. Though after talking and starting working on things, we all realized they needed to solidify their process amongst themselves before attempting to add another person (specially one as vocal as lil ole me eh
). So after helping them get some things started up and setting up some web software for them I’ve moved on to work on something of my own.
My plan:
Of course I just can’t break away and not go directly to a zombie game of some sort, so I’ve started working on a Zombie game. With the that in mind, I also couldn’t break away from my plans for casual development, so we have a casual zombie game, with a MechTrex involved… It just happens that way.
I’m working with the Unity engine and plan on developing it for web platform to start with, with the possibilty of porting towards the Iphone later on. Though as of right now I plan on working on development for soley the web plan for the simple reason I can’t afford a Mac (So, if you wanna buy me a mac.. hop to it!
)
As of now I’m doing the one man team, meaning that everything will be place holder art as I’m a horrid artist! I figure once I have the coding and the game complete via placeholder art, I’ll approach an artist that might be willing to help out for the reputation points of a published game – We’ll see how that works out!
I’m going to try and keep a record of my progress as I go along, troubles, problems… blah blah. Being that its a casual game and I’m not under the illusion that my idea’s are Halo, WOW, Rockband worthy – I’m not exactly scared to share my progress or ideas. So, I’ll be happy to share my design doc and what forth as I continue.
As of now – Shiny Coins is on the back burner, along with 3 other idea’s as I try and slowly proceed in the one man army style – Dolph would be proud.
Payce!
